Website Traffic Generation – How To Generate Traffic To Your Website

February 22nd, 2010 admin 2 comments

Website traffic generation is very hard for most website owners. Many want to know how to generate traffic to their website, but the would you honestly do the work that is required to make it happen if you knew how to do it?

If you feel that you’ll put in the work to generate traffic to your website if I tell you how to do it then let’s go ahead and talk about how to do it.

First A Question

Before we get started I would first like to ask you a question. Do you want get more traffic to your website by having articles on your website that rank high for certain search phrases? Do you want to get traffic by having your domain home page rank higher? Or do you want to get more traffic by having articles on article sites rank high for search phrases?

No matter which option you choose, all of them relate to ranking a certain page high in the search engines for a particular keyword (the basics of getting more traffic)!

So let’s talk about how to get those pages to rank high.

Now What?

So now you have the url of a keyword optimized article that’s either on your site on an article directory, or you have the url of your keyword optimized. So how do we get it to get this high search engine rankings that brings us the traffic…

…backlinks!

How many of you knew I was going to say that?

Have you ever heard of the 80/20 rule? It means that 20% of the work you do is responsible for 80% of the results you see, and this is very true in producing traffic online. Most of the results that you will see will be due to the backlinks that you see to your pages. Here’s a good scenario of what I mean.

John has his own website and he wants to rank one of the articles on his domain for a good highly searched for keyword. So what John does is he spends week after week giving backlinks to his keyword optimized article so that it will rank for that particular keyword.

Mike takes a different approach. Instead he spends week after week adding new articles to his site and never backlinks any the articles that are already on his site.

After two months of working hard, John has his article in the top spot in Google and it’s averaging him around 100 visitors per day from Google (could be much more if he had done some good keyword research). After two months, Mike has added 100 new articles to his site, but they’re only bringing him about 20 visitors per day since most of them are way down the rankings in Google.

Do you see the importance of backlinking now? I’ll leave it at that.

P.S. Don’t forget that we have a backlinking category.

Drive Traffic To Your Website – Driving Website Traffic

February 22nd, 2010 admin 1 comment

If you want to drive traffic to your website then you have a couple different options for doing so. There are long term ways of driving website traffic, and shorter term methods of doing so. In this article we’re going to talk about both methods of traffic generation and the pro’s and con’s of each one.

SEO Of Your Own Site (Long Term Method)

The longer term method of driving traffic to your website is by either getting your main website pages to rank higher in the search engines, or by getting articles on your site to rank higher in the search engines.

You most likely found this article by searching for ways to drive more traffic to your website. This article is designed to rank high for those types of search terms and is a perfect example of this method in practice.

What you can do is you can either add articles to your site that are keyword optimized and try to rank them individually, or you can try to rank your domain home page for a somewhat competitive keyword that brings in good traffic.

To rank these pages, you will want to include the keyword that you want to rank for somewhere on the page a few times. This is important for ranking for the search phrases that you want to rank for.

No matter which option you choose, your rankings will mostly depend on how well you backlink the pages that you want to rank high (more information on backlinking can be found in the backlinking category). You can have the best on-page optimization in the world but it means nothing if you don’t know how to properly backlink.

SEO Of Articles On An Authority Site (Shorter Term Method)

This method will bring quicker results for you. To use this method you will be writing keyword optimized articles as you would in the long term option, but you would put them on an authority site instead of your own. Some authority sites that you can choose between are:

EzineArticles
Squidoo
Hubpages
ArticlesBase

The success that you have with this method is purely dependent on proper backlinking as is the long term option. Ranking any type of webpage in the search engines is mostly dependent on proper backlinking, as long as you have the keywords in the page.

How To Get More Traffic To Your Website – Get Targeted Traffic

February 16th, 2010 admin No comments

If you’re like most website owners, then you know that traffic is one of the most important things you can bring in. Even better yet is targeted traffic. So many website owners will ask themselves, “How can i get more targeted traffic to my website?” There are many different ways to boost your traffic, but lets look at some of the best free ways to do so.

Long-Term Approach

The more long-term but best results approach is to get pages of your website to rank for specific keywords in the search engines. You most likely found this article by doing a search in a search engine for how to get traffic. This is a perfect example of how I’m bringing in traffic to this website and how you can too.

The drawback to this method is that it takes a good bit of time to do. It’s not easy getting articles on your own website to rank for keywords that are going to bring you in good traffic, but if it was easy then everyone would be doing it. If you can keep consistently adding keyword optimized content to your website and backlink that content, then you will begin to see your website traffic rise.

Short Term Approach

The short term approach is to get bursts of traffic from EzineArticles and other popular article directories. When you submit an article to EzineArticles.com you will usually get a burst of traffic to your site from the article that was recently published. Adding an article or two per day to a few good article directories is a good way to keep a constant supply of traffic coming to your website.

Another good approach that you can use to apply the short term and long term methods is to submit keyword optimized articles to EzineArticles for bursts of traffic but then backlink your articles for high placement in the search engines after they are published.

You can take some of the ideas above and change them a little bit to develop your own personal strategy. It’s important to develop a plan of action that is catered to what you do best. Either way, I hope the methods above will help you get on track to get more traffic to your website.

Having Persistence In Your Goals

January 30th, 2010 admin No comments

They say that rich people are quick to make decisions and slow to change them.

Have you ever set a goal for youself and then never achieved it? I’m sure you have, we all have. We have that type of nature in which we’ll think of something that we want to accomplish and tell ourself that we will but then when it comes time to do the work we won’t do it. Why do we do that to ourselves?

If you truly want to be successful in this business then you have to be persistent and stick to your goals. One of the biggest mistakes that I see is people will being to work on a project or a campaign and then they will give up if they don’t see immediate results. The best thing you can do for your business is to pick a plan of action and to not stray from it. If you’re constantly changing from idea to idea month after month then you will always be at the beginning and you will never get anywhere.

Think about the last project that you gave up on. Do you think things would be differently if you had kept up with that project and hadn’t decided to start the one you’re working on now? Now think about one of the very first projects you started when you first got into affiliate marketing. What if you were still working on that one project? I bet you would be a lot better off right now then you currently are!

So sit down and give it a good though the next time you get bored with your current project and want to change to something else. Think about where you’ll be with it in another month or two if you don’t give up.

Earn Residual Income – Residual Income Opportunity

December 13th, 2009 admin No comments

There is currently a residual income opportunity that allows you to earn residual income right from your own home. It is not a get-rich-quick scheme or a pyramid scheme or anything like that. It is a legitimate venture that allows you to work from home and earn residual income right from your computer. The type of business that I’m referring to is affiliate marketing.

An affiliate marketer is someone who is self employed and works independently online from their computer. What they do is they sell other people’s products online for commissions. Most marketers get started by signing up for Clickbank, where the commissions they receive are usually somewhere between $30 and $150 for each sale.

To make a sale as an affiliate, you are given a link which is your “affiliate link”. Each time someone clicks on your affiliate link they are taken to the sales page of the product you are promoting. If they decide to buy the product then you will receive a commission for referring the sale! if you promote a product which pays $50 commission per sale, then you could probably live off of two sales per day.

I know that this sounds like one of those “too easy to be true type things”, and the honest truth is that it’s not as easy as it sounds. Getting people to actually click on your affiliate link is the hardest part in the process. But this does not mean that you can’t be making a full time income after a few months of hard work.

I know someone who made their very first sale on July 6, 2009. Four months later on October 31, 2009 they were excited to see that they had hit the $5,000 mark for the month. This was all income from affiliate marketing on Clickbank. Of course these results are not typical at all, but it goes to show what is really possible if you work hard enough for something.

So if you’re looking for a real residual income opportunity to earn residual income, then I would highly recommend that you look into affiliate marketing.
