Website Traffic Generation – How To Generate Traffic To Your Website

February 22nd, 2010 admin No comments

Website traffic generation is very hard for most website owners. Many want to know how to generate traffic to their website, but the would you honestly do the work that is required to make it happen if you knew how to do it?

If you feel that you’ll put in the work to generate traffic to your website if I tell you how to do it then let’s go ahead and talk about how to do it.

First A Question

Before we get started I would first like to ask you a question. Do you want get more traffic to your website by having articles on your website that rank high for certain search phrases? Do you want to get traffic by having your domain home page rank higher? Or do you want to get more traffic by having articles on article sites rank high for search phrases?

No matter which option you choose, all of them relate to ranking a certain page high in the search engines for a particular keyword (the basics of getting more traffic)!

So let’s talk about how to get those pages to rank high.

Now What?

So now you have the url of a keyword optimized article that’s either on your site on an article directory, or you have the url of your keyword optimized. So how do we get it to get this high search engine rankings that brings us the traffic…

…backlinks!

How many of you knew I was going to say that?

Have you ever heard of the 80/20 rule? It means that 20% of the work you do is responsible for 80% of the results you see, and this is very true in producing traffic online. Most of the results that you will see will be due to the backlinks that you see to your pages. Here’s a good scenario of what I mean.

John has his own website and he wants to rank one of the articles on his domain for a good highly searched for keyword. So what John does is he spends week after week giving backlinks to his keyword optimized article so that it will rank for that particular keyword.

Mike takes a different approach. Instead he spends week after week adding new articles to his site and never backlinks any the articles that are already on his site.

After two months of working hard, John has his article in the top spot in Google and it’s averaging him around 100 visitors per day from Google (could be much more if he had done some good keyword research). After two months, Mike has added 100 new articles to his site, but they’re only bringing him about 20 visitors per day since most of them are way down the rankings in Google.

Do you see the importance of backlinking now? I’ll leave it at that.

P.S. Don’t forget that we have a backlinking category.

How To Get Backlinks To Get Position One

December 12th, 2009 admin 1 comment

If you’re reading this then I’m sure you know how important it is to get backlinks so I won’t get into the importance of getting them. I do want to say though that you should try to strive for position one for whatever keyword you’re targeting. There is not much of a difference between the amount of traffic that positions 2-10 get, but position 1 usually receives about 40%-60% of the traffic that a keyword generates. That’s a big increase compared to about 10% at position 2.

So how do we get the backlinks to get to position one? Well if you already know what anchor text is then you should go ahead and skip down to where we list the types of ways you can get the backlinks. If you don’t know what anchor text in then it’s imperative that you read the next paragraph.

Know What Anchor Text Is?

An anchor text is the text of a backlink. For example, the blue text in the image is a backlink for this site that is on another website. It is helping the main page of this site to rank for the term “successful affiliate marketer”. All backlinks, no matter what the anchor text is, will help a webpage rank higher for any term it’s ranking for, but backlinks with specific anchor text will help it to rank even higher for the certain text of the backlink.

For these reasons it is important to try to use specific anchor text that is relative to the keywords you’re trying to rank for.

Now that I’ve explained all that, let’s look at some of the things that we can do to get backlinks to our webpages.

Article Directories

You probably already know this one, but it’s still an effective way for getting backlinks. Article directories are a great way to get backlinks to your site and it is simple to do too. You simply write a short article and submit it to some of the top article directories with two links back to two different webpages of your choice.

Blog Commenting

Blog commenting is another great way to get a good quality backlink and even some extra traffic. To get blog comment backlinks, just simply go to Google and type in the name of your niche plus the word “blog”. Go through the results and find some blogs that allow you to leave comments. When you leave your comment leave a link back to one of your webpages. The real trick behind doing this is to make sure that your comment doesn’t look spammy and actually provides value.

Forum Posting

If you’re already part of a forum that you post regularly too, a simple thing you can do is to go into your account and make your signature a link back to one of your webpages. This is a great way to easily get a backlink from wherever you have already posted in the forum. If you’re not part of any forums then I suggest you become a member at some that are related to the pages you want to backlink. After you have posted a few times then change your signature to include your backlink. Most forums also usually have a spot where you can put your homepage in your profile and it will give you a backlink to your homepage.

These are just a few of the ways to get backlinks to your webpages. I hope that you have learned how to get backlinks, and the importance of getting a top position in the search engines.

Ranking High On Search Engine

November 29th, 2009 admin No comments

Learn how to start ranking high on search engines from backlinking. Backlinking is the key to ranking high on search engines. The concept with ranking high and backlinks is pretty simple; the more backlinks you have, the higher your webpage will rank.

A backlink is a link that you click on in one website that leads to a completely different website. For example, the link below is an example of a backlink for the site EzineArticles.

www.ezinearticles.com

As Google scans and this page it will see the backlink to that site and its will cause Google to give more authority to that site when ranking than it previously did.

There is also something called anchor text that you must be aware of when backlinking. For example, the link below is still linked to the same website as the link above. The only difference is that the anchor text is “article directory” instead of just the URL. This will help the site in ranking high on search engines for the term “article directory”.

So If you want to be ranking high on search engines for a particular search phrase, then make sure to put the search phrase as your anchor text whenever you make backlinks.

You can get backlinks by submitting articles to article directories because they usually allow up to two links at the end of each article.

Article Marketing Strategy – Dominate Google With Mass Distribution

November 5th, 2009 admin No comments

In you’re article marketing strategy, are you mass distributing to many different article directories or just one? If you’re not mass distributing your articles then you’re missing out on precious backlinks. Backlinks are essential to make an article to move up in the search engines and too keep it there. So you need to be backlinking one of your articles to boost its rankings to give it more traffic. Here’s an extremely simple way to do that.

Let’s say you submit an article to Ezinearticles and then it gets published a few days later. So you have your published article and it’s ranking at the bottom of page one. Let’s say it’s ranking in position 8. Now we all know that position 8 in Google is not going to get a bulk of the traffic, it’s going to be getting a lot less than those up in position 4,3,2, and 1. So why not boost our article up there with backlinks?

Backlinking = Traffic = Profits

To give our articles easy backlinks, what we’re going to do is take it and submit it to many other article directories, but with a link back to the original article in Ezinearticles. So you’re going to take your article from Ezinearticles, and post it too the other article directories, but here’s how you get your backlink from this…

Since most article directories allow at least two links in the resource box, you’re going to change the second link in your article so that it links back to your Ezinearticle. This means that you will have one link in your resource box pointing to whatever website you originally were, and then the second link is going to be directed toward your Ezinearticle.

You’re just going to take you article like this, with the second link in it changed, and post it to as many different article directories as you can. This will get your article a lot of backlinks from many high pr sites, and will cause it to move up in the search engines. After doing this, your position 8 article might move up to position 4 or 3 after a few days… maybe even position one if you got enough backlinks! Up here high in the rankings is where the real traffic is!

List of Directories To Mass Submit Your Article To

  • Ezinearticles
  • GoArticles
  • Buzzle
  • Article Dashboard
  • Amazines
  • Article Pool
  • Isnare
  • Articles Factory
  • A1Articles
  • Article Buzz

  • There are many more article directories to submit to than just the ones above. There are literally hundreds that can be found, but the ones above are some of the highest ranking ones that will provide really good backlinks to your main article. Be sure to add this method of linking into your article marketing strategy.

Backlinking Your Articles – Why You Should Be And How To Do It

November 3rd, 2009 admin No comments

If you’ve already got a great way for backlinking your articles, then great, you don’t need to read this article. But if you either don’t know what backlinking is, you do know but you aren’t backlinking your articles, or you aren’t getting the results you want from your current backlinking, then you really need to read this post.

Backlinking is something that article marketers do for two main reasons.

    1. It causes your article to move up the rankings in the search engine for the keyword you’re trying to rank for it.
    2.
    3. It causes your article to stay higher in the search engines longer rather than dropping down to nowhere after only a week.

You can see that both of these reasons make backlinking a very important thing. If you’re not backlinking then you’re really wasting time with your hard earned articles, and you probably need to be churning out new articles week after week for the same keywords to keep the traffic coming.

    What Is A Backlink?

A backlink is a link on one website that leads to another website. For example, if I had a link on this site that took you too another site, then that would be a backlink for the other site.

What we want for our articles are “one-way” backlinks. This means that I would have a link to the other site, but the other site would NOT have a link back to me. This gives the other site a one-way link, and therefore helps there ranking in the search engines.

If you’re having trouble understanding, basically we want links on other websites that lead to our articles, this will help boost our articles ranking in the search engines, and make it stay up there longer.

    How To Backlink Your Articles

Backlinking your articles is actually something that can be pretty simple once you get the hang of it. After a while you get into a certain routine, and you go through the routine every time you publish a new article without even thinking twice about it.

Here are some ways to get the backlinks that you need to your articles.

    Social Bookmarking

Sign up for some social bookmarking sites. These are sites that allow you put up a link to something on the web, and allow you to even add a title and a description for it. Just be sure to play it off as if the aritcle you’re linking to is not yours, instead talk about how it’s a neat article you found while searching the web.

    Article Directories

Here’s a neat trick that I’ve learned through my marketing. Let’s say you’ve got an article published on ezinearticles and you want to backlink that article. What you can do is take the article and change the title, reword the first sentence, and change up the resource box, and then submit it a bunch of other top article directories. The trick to getting the backlinks is to add a link in the resource box that leads to your ezinearticle. Since most places allow two links, keep the first link leading to whatever website you’re trying to drive traffic to.

    Create A Blog

This is something that is not used very often but can be extremely effective. Create a blog at blogger.com and every time you get an article published, take the first 100 words and post it to your blog. Then provide a link at the end of the 100 words leading the full article at the article directory.
