5 Email Marketing Strategies

December 2nd, 2009 No comments

Marketer always say that “the money is in the list”. So now that you’re building your list, how do you keep your members subscribed. And more importantly, how do you get them to open your emails, actually read them and click on your links, and then actually buy whatever you’re promoting?

Here are 5 email marketing strategies to help you out.

1. Give your readers value. – This has to be the most important thing you must remember when implementing your email marketing strategy. You have to build up trust with your reader, give them a reason to be subscribed to your list. They probably already have enough junk in their inbox, give them something of value that will not only keep them subscribed but will make them open all of the emails they receive from you.

2. Have killer subject lines. – No one is going to open your email if it’s the same old boring subject line, so spice it up a bit. Include the most important information first, and also be sure to include a sense of urgency so that they feel the must open the email right away.

3. Involve your readers. - Every now and then send out an email asking for their opinion on certain things. Set up a poll and ask your readers to make a vote on the poll and to also leave a comment. This will increase your reader response and activity.

4. More information, less promotion. - Only send out a promotional email after every two or three information emails. You want to keep your readers happy and subscribed with emails that are actually helping them in whatever niche it is. Give back to them since they’re helping to make you money.

5. Proofread every email as a subscriber. – Read over every email before you send it out, but pretend that you’re a subscriber receiving the email. Did the subject line catch your attention? Was the email really worth opening up and reading? Be sure to put yourself in your readers shoes… would you want to be on your own list?

I hope these email marketing strategies will be helpful to you and your email list.

Opt-In Email Advertising – The Key To Increased Profits

November 9th, 2009 No comments

Having a review style page and promoting a certain product is great, but having a squeeze page and using an opt-in email advertising campaign is even better!

New To Opt-In Email Advertising?

If you already know what opt-in email advertising is, then you can go ahead and skip down to the next section.

Opt-in email advertising is when you collect the names and emails of visitors who visit your site. They “opt-in” to receive emails from you, and then with their email address and name you build up their trust. You start off by giving them useful information in their emails, things that will help them that’s related to their niche. Then after a few emails of information, you send them an email talking about how a certain product in this niche has helped you, and you provide an affiliate link to the product.

This is a great way to increase your conversions because you’re building up the trust of the customer so that they trust whatever product you’re promoting to them. It also provides you the opportunity to try to sell them multiple different products over the course of time. Maybe they won’t be interested in the first two products you promote, but maybe they will want to purchase the third one.

The Power Of The List

If you currently don’t have an opt-in mailing list then I suggest you start building one right away. It’s not a secret that pretty much all of the top internet marketers have mailing lists, and they have one for good reason. It’s much easier to sell something to someone if you first build up their trust. By doing this they then trust in the product you’re promoting.

How To Get Started In Opt-In Email Advertising

To get started, the first thing you’re going to want to do is sign up for an autoresponder provider. The one that I use and highly recommend is Aweber Communications.

Once you’re signed up for an autoresponder provider, you’re going to need to create a squeeze page. A squeeze page is a single page that has the sole intention of getting visitors to submit their name and email to sign-up to be on your email list. The way to getting people to sign up is to give them an offer they can’t refuse. An example of a good squeeze page is this.

www.listprofitclub.com/index1.php

Notice how the headline stands out and grabs your attention, and the bullet points list what you’re going to be learning for giving your information. The whole purpose of this page is to get you to give your information away and it’s very tempting isn’t it?

To create a squeeze page like that you’re first going to need an offer to promote. There are many ways you can do this. Some of them are…

  • Spend a day creating your own short simple ebook on a highly talked about topic in your niche
  • Get the master rights to a plr ebook and just adjust it to the way you want it
  • Type up a free report on how to do something and put it into pdf format

  • There are many different things that can be done, just make your offer something that the visitor won’t be able to refuse… that way you get a lot of people to sign up to your mailing list.

Creating The Squeeze Page And Autoresponder

After you have you’re offer you’re going to want to create your squeeze page. Make sure to take another look at the example above to get some ideas on how you want it to be laid out. Try to make it so that the reader becomes extremely interested, and has no choice but to opt-in to your mailing list.

After you have done this you’re going to want to sign into your autoresponder site and create an autoresponder series. These are the list of emails that your mailing list is going to initially receive the first few weeks they sign up. Try to keep your first three emails extremely informative. Give them a link to download whatever free material you promised them in the first email, and then give them some really good information related to the niche in the following two emails. Then in the fourth email you can give a little sales pitch about the product you’re trying to promote.

Make sure to give them another three or so emails of informative content after the fourth one before you try to sell them anything again, so your autoresponder series should look something like this…

1st Email: The free material you promised them for signing up.
2nd Email: Information on something related to the niche.
3rd Email: Information on something related to the niche.
4th Email: Talk about the product you’re promoting and put in two affiliate links leading to it.
5th Email: Information on something related to the niche.
6th Email: Information on something related to the niche.
7th Email: Information on something related to the niche.
    8th Email: Promote another product.

I like to send out emails every 4-7 days.

    Wrapping It All Up

After you have your opt-in email advertising campaign all set up along with your squeeze page and autoresponder series, go ahead and sign up for your own mailing list and start receiving your emails. If you do this then you’ll always receive the emails in your autoresponder before anyone else so you can change things if you find any mistakes in them.

As I said earlier in this post. Mostly all successful internet marketers have opt-in email advertising campaigns because they can be extremely profitable and cost next to nothing to run. I would highly recommend that you use the information above and start building your own mailing list in the niche you’re promoting if you’re currently not doing so.
